Men's Retreat
This year's retreat bridges the gap between the philosophical and practical. We'll spend 3 days practicing and discussing the benefits of being present. Learn visualization, meditation, and breathing techniques, to help us stay in the moment.
During the course of the weekend, we’ll explore the ways in which our brains can take us hostage. After recognizing these distraction patterns we’ll practice techniques to redirect our focus, walking away with a variety of tools to maintain presence.
Adding to the weekend experience we’ll kick things off with a sushi Dinner from St. George’s Benja’s while Sampling 3 varieties of sake:
- Junmai - pure rice wine without added alcohol, having a robust, rich body.
- Ginjo - distilled alcohol added with layers of complex flavors.
- Junmai Ginjo Namazake - unpasteurized sake, with a light brisk flavor.
Saturday morning we’ll each make our own Xero barefoot sandals. These sandals will allow us to connect with the ground, feeling every move, during the barefoot hike without worrying about shredding the bottom of our feet.
Mid-morning we’ll put our palettes to the test in a coffee cupping. This coffee industry exercise is designed to uncover the tasting notes in both roast and region. We’ll be tasting a few different roasts from nationally acclaimed Olympia Coffee Roasting Company.
We’ll end the Saturday night with beer flights, sliders, and poker.
As always the conversion will fill in the cracks. Join us this year as we help each other become more present.
